Laboratory Expansion

Hicks Oils is proud to announce the completion of our laboratory expansion.

Hicks Oils is proud to announce an expansion of our quality control laboratory. This expansion has allowed us to bring in additional equipment to stay on the cutting edge of quality control testing for various specifications.

Lab Extension

Brookfield Viscometer

Brookfield Viscometer

This equipment includes a new Brookfield Viscometer to test for cold temperature properties of transmission fluids and gear oils. This ensures that our products can function in the harshest cold applications and still flow. Contact our sales office for information on our full synthetic Venom® line of premium gear oils and transmission fluids today.

Tapered Bearing Simulator

Tapered Bearing Simulator

Our lab extension has also allowed for the purchase of a tapered bearing simulator to measure the high temperature high shear (HTHS) viscosity of motor oils. This is necessary for differentiating between the new PC-11 diesel categories CK-4 and FA-4. It is also anticipated to be required in the new GF-6 category for passenger car motor oils. This reaffirms Hicks Oils’ commitment to staying ahead of the curve in QC testing for ever evolving engine oil categories. Ask our sales representatives how our Formula 500® diesel products can give you an edge on the competition.

X-Ray Fluorescence Spectrometer

XRF

Hicks Oils has also purchased a new X-Ray Fluorescence Spectrometer (XRF) to provide even more accuracy for our blend quality control process. This new XRF not only allows our lab to obtain more accurate measurements of additive content, but also allows for the measurement of a wider range of elements. This helps not only quality control, but product development as well.
